VINCENT SELECTED AS LONE STAR CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
 DENTON, Texas (September 4) – Texas Woman’s University junior goalkeeper Aly Vincent has been selected as the Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Week (for the week of Aug. 27-Sep. 2) for her efforts in the Pioneers two games last week.
On Friday, August 31, Vincent made 13 saves and allowed just two goals against in a narrow 2-0 loss to a powerful University of North Texas team. On Saturday, September 1, she stopped all four shots she faced in 75 minutes of action against Sterling College to earn her first win (and first shutout) of the 2007 season.
A local product from Denton’s Billy Ryan High School, Vincent has emerged as one of the top goaltenders in the Lone Star Conference in the opening two weeks of the 2007 soccer season. She has started each of the Pioneers first four games this season and allowed just six goals against while making 36 saves. The shutout of Sterling College was the ninth of her TWU career (extending her own school record).
Vincent and her TWU soccer teammates will play two games this week at the TWU Soccer Field. On Wednesday, September 5, the Pioneers host Texas Wesleyan University at 4:00 p.m. On Sunday, September 9, TWU will take on Missouri Southern State University at 2:00 p.m.
