LUNA PICKED FOR DAKTRONICS ALL-REGION TEAM
 DENTON, Texas (November 6) - Texas Woman’s University senior midfielder Romy Luna has been named to the 2007 Division II Daktronics All-Midwest Region Women’s Soccer Second Team.
Luna (pictured) scored one goal and assisted on two more to help the Pioneers’ to an 8-9-3 overall record during their recently completed 2007 season. For her TWU career, the Lewisville, Texas native totaled eight goals, six assists, 22 points, and 65 shots in 75 games played.
2007 marks the second season that Daktronics, a leading manufacturer of scoreboard systems, has sponsored all-region teams in soccer with Sports Information Directors from within each of the eight regions around the country selecting the all-region teams. First-team members from each region move onto the national ballot in the voting for All-America honors.
Luna is the first TWU soccer player to earn a Daktronics All-Region selection. It is the third postseason honor in the last week that she has received. On Wednesday, October 31, she was chosen for the 2007 Lone Star Conference Women’s Soccer All-Academic Team . On Thursday, November 1, she was an honorable mention choice to the 2007 Lone Star Conference Women’s Soccer All-Conference Team.
