VINCENT SELECTED AS THE LONE STAR CONFERENCE CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
 DENTON, Texas (October 16) – Texas Woman’s University junior goalkeeper Aly Vincent (pictured) has been selected as the Lone Star Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Week (for the week of Oct. 8 - Oct. 14) for her efforts in helping the Pioneers to two important conference wins.
On Wednesday, October 10, Vincent stopped four of the five shots she faced to lead the Pioneers to a 2-1 win at Texas A&M University-Commerce. On Sunday, October 14, she stopped all six shots sent her way to record her second shutout of the season in a 1-0 TWU victory over the 24 th ranked Midwestern State University Mustangs.
This marks the second time this season that Vincent has been honored by the Lone Star Conference. She was chosen as the conference’s Defensive Player of the Week for the week of August 27-September 2. A product of Denton’s Billy Ryan High School, Vincent has started all 15 games of the 2007 season for the Pioneers. She has a 6-8-1 overall record with a 1.44 goals against average and a .835 save percentage.
Later this week, Vincent and her TWU soccer teammates will play their final two home games of the season at the TWU Soccer Field. On Friday, October 19, the Pioneers host West Texas A&M University at 5:00 p.m. On Sunday, October 21, TWU will take on Eastern New Mexico University at 1:00 p.m.
