TWU’S BENATAR TO INSTRUCT AT NCAA DII SPORTS FESTIVAL

DENTON, Texas (Nov. 8) – Texas Woman’s University’s head soccer coach Fleur Benatar will be a part of the coaching staff at the NCAA Division II Sports Festival YES Clinic to be held this Saturday, November 11, in Pensacola, Florida, on the campus of the University of West Florida.
Traveling with Benatar and also instructing at the Youth Education through Sports (YES) Clinic will be two Pioneer soccer student-athletes - senior midfielder Melissa Williams and junior defender Sue Cribbes.
The YES Clinic is free of charge and open to boys and girls between the ages of nine and 12. The objective of this clinic is for participants to connect with other young athletes and receive fundamental sports instruction from collegiate student-athletes and coaches representing successful NCAA sports programs. The hands-on instruction will emphasize on-field skills, conditioning, and life skills. YES is another way that coaches and student-athletes share the NCAA 's commitment to challenging young people to strive for higher levels of achievement in both athletics and academics.
Benatar is looking forward to the coaching opportunity this weekend.
“I’m excited to be taking part in the YES Clinic. The clinic is held in conjunction with the NCAA Division II national championships festival, so I’m going to have the chance to be around a ton of highly knowledgeable and highly skilled coaches and players. It’s definitely an honor for me to be selected as a coach for this event and to take two TWU student-athletes to participate as well,” she stated.
