VINCENT NAMED CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
DENTON , Texas – Aly Vincent was named Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Week by the league office for the week of Sept. 4, 2006.
The 5-6 sophomore goalkeeper from Denton was between the pipes for Texas Woman 's University for 200:00 in two games including a double overtime tie to conference rival Midwestern State University. Vincent made 18 saves in two games and allowed three goals, all to the defending national champions from the University of Nebraska-Omaha in a 3-1 loss. Vincent recorded a .857 save percentage as TWU went 0-1-1.
In the away match in Omaha, the offensively aggressive Mavericks took 25 shots on the Pioneers. Vincent tallied eight saves. Coming into that contest, UNO was averaging 4.4 goals per game.
