DENTON , Texas – Texas Woman’s University was one of 313 intercollegiate soccer programs to post a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher to earn the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Team Academic Award for the 2004-05 school year.

The Pioneers were honored for the third consecutive season under head coach Fleur Benatar. Romy Luna recorded a perfect 4.0 GPA during the year. Britney Cochrum and Christine Hornisher aced their classes during the 2005 spring semester.

In 2005, TWU (9-9-2, 4-5) posted its best overall and conference record in the program’s four-year history. The Pioneers made it’s first-ever trip to the postseason with a fifth-place finish in the league.
