TWU SHORTSTOP FLORES TABBED CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Baker Shares LSC Co-Coach of the Year Honors

DENTON, Tex. – Texas Woman’s University senior shortstop Teresa Flores (Corpus Christi, TX) was named the 2004 Lone Star Conference South Division Player of the Year.

Flores sat atop the conference rankings in most offensive categories throughout the year. At the end of the regular season, she was batting a conference-best .497 and led the LSC in hits (85), runs scored (52), triples (10) and total bases (152). Flores also led TWU with 51 runs batted in and 20 doubles. She was also named to the LSC All-Tournament Team as the team placed second behind Angelo State.

TWU head coach Dianne Baker shared LSC South Division Coach-of-the-Year honors with Travis Scott of Angelo State. Baker has compiled a 264-138-2 (.656) record in her eight seasons at TWU and will lead the Pioneers to their second NCAA South Central Regional Tournament in three years.

Junior catcher Stefani Easter (Troy, TX) joins Flores on the All-Conference First Team. Easter is in her first season as the Pioneers’ starter behind the plate, backing up 2003 NFCA Division II Catcher-of-the-Year Jami Ingram last season. Easter led the Pioneers with 11 home runs this season and ranked second with 45 RBIs and 12 doubles.

Four Pioneers were named to the All-Lone Star Conference South Division Second Team: freshman pitcher Lindsy Russ-Keller (Dickinson, TX), senior third baseman Jennifer Collins (Forney, TX), senior outfielder Nikki Boudreaux (Orange, TX) and junior designated player Lauren Gustartis (Bellaire, TX).
