HIGH SCHOOL: The salutatorian of the 2006 graduating class from Union High School in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma…in 2005-06, she competed for the Krafft Academy of Gymnastics in Tulsa, Oklahoma…from 2002-2005, she competed for the Tulsa World of Gymnastics in Tulsa…as a freshman in 2002, she was a Level 8 Regional Champion…in 2003, she was a Level 9 Regional Beam and Bar Champion and the Level 9 Regional all-around Runner-Up…she also went on to finish in fifth-place in the 2003 Level 9 Western Championships…in 2004, a score of 9.70 helped her to the Level 9 Regional Beam Championship…she also finished in fourth-place on bars and in sixth place in the all-around at the 2004 Level 9 Western Championships…last year, Zimmerman was a competitor at the Level 10 Junior Olympic National Championships…earned numerous academic and personal honors while at Union High School…in 2002-03, her sophomore year of high school, she won the Union High School “Character Counts Award”…as a junior in 2004, she was elected to the Miss Union Top 10.
PERSONAL: Human biology major…the daughter of Tom and Kerri Zimmerman…away from the gym, she enjoys singing, spending time with friends and family, shopping, and swimming…is active in the Denton Bible Church.
