POINT BANK TEAM CLAIMS TOP PRIZE AT TWU GYMNASTICS FUNDRAISING GOLF TOURNAMENT
DENTON, Texas (October 9) – The foursome representing Point Bank – Ray David, Deke Alexander, Edgar Evans, and Jonathon David – claimed first place at the TWU Gymnastics Fundraising Golf Tournament held on Monday, October 8, at the Wildhorse Golf Club at Robson Ranch in Denton.
The (pictured) Point Bank team, with a remarkable score of 54 (18 under par), came in three shots ahead of the team from Midway Baptist Church (Brad Wilkerson, Jim Morgan, Ken Adams, and Joe McGee). The team from Orthopedic Specialists of North Texas (Eric Eifler, Dustin Hill, Rick Smith, and Neal Victor) carded a 58 to finish in third place by virtue of a scorecard playoff.
A full field of 22 foursomes competed in this charitable event. In addition to the team winners, individual prizes were awarded to Daniel Killian (closest approach shot on Hole 13), Bob Bitters (closest to the hole on Hole 7), Blake Pressley (closest to the hole on Hole 11) and Calvin Forbes (longest putt made on Hole 9).
All of the proceeds from this tourney benefited the TWU Gymnastics team and the Friends of Achievers (the Achievers Gymnastics competitive girl’s team booster club).
The premier hole sponsors for this tournament were Achievers Gymnastics, Groggy Dog, James Wood Auto Park, D&D Sports Med, Frenchy’s Lawn and Tree Service, the Denton Record-Chronicle, and Flooring America.
TWU gymnastics head coach Frank Kudlac was very pleased with the outcome of the tournament.
“It was a great day of golf for two great causes – the TWU Gymnastics team and the Friends of Achievers. I want to thank all of our golfers and all of our sponsors for helping to make this an outstanding event. I sincerely hope that all of our participants had a wonderful time and I’m already looking forward to having another tournament next fall,” said Kudlac.
