 Senior co-captain Nicole Poling (pictured) has been chosen by her teammates as this week's TWU Gymnastics Pioneer of the Week (P.O.W.). Poling is a native of Loveland, Colorado and trained at GK's Gymnastics club.
Poling has been a consistent performer all season long for the Pioneers' on vault and floor exercise. This past weekend was no exception, as she nailed a team-best 9.825 vault in TWU's dual meet at OU and then followed that up with a 9.350 on the apparatus versus Iowa. She also scored a 9.675 on floor against the Hawkeyes to help the TWU floor squad to an impressive team score of 48.675.
Poling has also been lauded by her teammates for her positive attitude and unfailing work ethic. TWU gymnastics head coach Frank Kudlac says that Poling has become one of the unquestioned leaders for his team this year.
"She's handling herself like a senior should," explained Kudlac. "Nicole's effort in practice and meets has set an excellent example for the younger members of team."
