 Junior Amie Boles (pictured) has been chosen by her teammates as this week's TWU Gymnastics Pioneer of the Week (P.O.W.). Boles is a native of Snellville, Georgia and trained as a club gymnast at the Georgia Gymnastics Academy.
Boles has been the Pioneers' anchor on floor exercise all season long. Her season average floor score of 9.731 is the best on the TWU team. She has won two individual event titles on floor this season, one on January 27 when she set a new career-high (and TWU school record) with a score of 9.900 in a quad meet versus Denver University, Maryland, and Air Force and another on February 8 in a dual versus Southeast Missouri State University.
Boles final floor RQS this season of 9.815 was good enough for her to be selected as an alternate on the event at the 2008 NCAA South Central Regional.
Boles' excellence on floor has somewhat overshadowed her consistent contributions this year to the TWU vault lineup. She has vaulted in nine meets this season, recording an average score of 9.542.
