PIONEER POST from Brittany |
Pioneer Post – April 15, 2008
(Editor's Note: This is the first in a series of "Pioneer Posts" from Shreveport, Lousiana detailing the TWU Pioneers experiences at the 2008 USA Gymnastics Women's Collegiate National Championships)
Hello Pioneer fans!
Welcome to Nationals week! Our team has been waiting for this time the whole season, and now it’s finally here! We are all very excited to experience this time together! We have been busy in the gym the last few weeks preparing and perfecting our skills and routines. We got an early start to today with an early morning swim, and Lisa (Klein, our Assistant Coach) even swam with us! This aftenoon we left for Shreveport, and we were pleasantly surprised to have a large group of our fans (pictured below) come out to see us as we boarded the bus and send us off in style! Even one of our old athletic trainers, Adri Perry (pictured at right), came by to wish us luck. We were so happy to see her. Our team appreciates all the support that we have!
We got into Shreveport and went to dinner at Olive Garden. We always love eating there. After dinner we were all very tired from our long day of traveling. At our team meeting, we were surprised yet again with a good luck banner from Mr. Pipkorn that all the parents have been signing throughout the season! Thank you so much!
We will keep you informed of all of our fun events as the week goes on. Remember that you can send us good luck faxes to the hotel! Be sure to check back for tomorrow’s Pioneer Post because we will have the annual banquet and practice session at Centenary College!
Thank you so much for all your support!
GO PIONEERS!
