 Pioneer Post – January 2, 2008
Welcome to 2008, Pioneer Fans!
I hope that the holiday break was safe and enjoyable for everyone. After the hard work that we put in studying for finals, we were all ready to get home and spend time with family and friends.
Our Christmas break was a little shorter than in the past because of having to return early to prepare for the meet at the Cancun Classic. We all returned ready to work hard to get more numbers under our belt in order to build our confidence for competition. The 28th was our first practice after the break. It was so exciting to see everyone and catch up on what happened during Christmas vacation! We were all ready to get back into the practice/competition mode.
It has been a great week of practices. We have spent many hours in the gym and have seen each other show drive and determination to represent the 2008 Pioneer squad on the competition floor not only in Cancun, but for the rest of the season.
In order to better prepare for the meet on Friday, we had a little mock meet in the gym on our last day of practice before leaving. It is very reassuring to see how many potential people we have for each event! Each lineup had at least eight people, which shows how hard everyone worked throughout the fall semester and how prepared we are for the season!
We will be leaving Thursday morning and our meet is at 3 p.m. Friday afternoon. Check out our website for the results!
