PIONEER POST from Brittany |
Pioneer Post - October 29, 2007
Hello Everyone!
Welcome back to a busy but awesome week of Pioneer gymnastics! My name is Brittany Parker and I am a junior Government major. This week was a great one for some quality time with each other as we’re really bonding into one cohesive unit. This is something that we as a team take very seriously, so weeks like these are fun and exciting for us!
We have continued our hard work putting routines and half routines together. It has been wonderful watching these come together even earlier than we are used to! As a birthday present to herself, freshman Amanda Walker (my little sis!) completed a full set on bars with her new major release! That was very exciting for everyone!
On Friday we had picture day starting in the early morning. We were at the Square in downtown Denton, and then came back to our practice facility for mug shots and team poses. Picture day is always fun and gets everyone in the mood of competition season which will be here before we know it! That night, we had our annual “cookie night” at senior Courtney Arno-Templet’s house. We baked cookies, watched movies, and spent some time together.
Saturday was another big day. We walked in the UNT Homecoming parade (pictured below) with Frenchy, who is a great supporter of our program. We passed out candy, did some gymnastics moves, and promoted our program throughout the entire parade. It was fun as always! It was so nice to hear all of the people say, “Hey, there are the TWU girls,” and to know that we have so many fans who follow our program. That night we all got together again and went to the UNT homecoming football game, wearing our green and supporting the other University in Denton!
We had a fun and eventful week of TWU Gymnastics and I love to share our excitement with you all! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your dedication and support of our program. It means so much to all of us. I can’t wait to see what the coming weeks bring to our wonderful team!
Go Pioneers!
