FAIN RESIGNS AS TWU GYMNASTICS ASSISTANT COACH
 DENTON, Texas (August 8) – Director of Athletics Chalese Connors announced that Texas Woman’s University gymnastics assistant coach Jackie Fain (pictured) has resigned and is pursuing other opportunities.
“Jackie was our first full-time assistant gymnastics coach and she did an outstanding job developing this position,” Connors stated. “She brought her experience not only as a former gymnast but also as a gymnastics judge which was a nice combination to have. She did a great job for us.”
Fain served as head coach Frank Kudlac’s top assistant for the last six seasons from 2001-07. She helped guide TWU to two USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championships (in 2003 and 2006) and the 2006 Midwest Independent Conference title during her tenure at TWU. She also earned several coaching honors for her efforts with the Pioneers. In 2005, she was chosen as the USA Gymnastics Assistant Coach of the Year, the Midwest Independent Conference Assistant Coach of the Year, and the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women Assistant Coach of the Year. In 2003, she won her first USA Gymnastics Assistant Coach of the Year award.
“First and foremost, I want to thank Jackie for all that she did for our program over the last six years,” Kudlac said. “She put a tremendous amount of time and effort into our gymnastics team, and for that I am very grateful. She leaves some pretty big shoes to fill.”
The search for an assistant gymnastics coach will begin immediately.
