PIONEER POST from Brittany |
Pioneer Post - March 12, 2007
Hello Pioneer fans,
My name is Brittany Parker and I’m a sophomore government major. This week started off with a surprise day off from coach on Sunday after traveling back from Oklahoma. It gave us all a much-needed day of rest and quality homework time! So on Monday we were all ready to come in and have a GREAT week of practice.
Now that we’re nearing the end of the 2007 season, we are focusing on the little things, such as sticking landings and hitting BIG routines, which will launch our team from “good to great,” yet another mantra that Coach has adopted!
This week’s meet was our annual Senior Recognition Night and Parent Appreciation Meet. We honored Catherine Schnoes, Courtney Arno and Brenda Campbell after the meet, sharing some great memories of their time here at TWU. We will miss their personalities and leadership next year for sure! It is always an emotional night for our seniors, their parents and the team. The meet was exciting as we got to experience the sounds of local band Rivers West again. Also, we were competing against some great teams - the University of Kentucky, Midwest Independent Conference rival, Southeast Missouri State, and Bowling Green University. Being at home is always exciting, and with it being our last home meet, there was a look in everyone’s eyes that couldn’t be ignored! We were ready for a great meet. We hit six out of six on vault, six out of seven on bars, six out of seven on beam, and six out of six on floor! All this hitting earned us our best team score of the season, a 194.825!!
It was a great practice week leading up to a great meet.
This weekend we will be traveling to the University of Arizona, where we will see Kentucky again, along with Penn State. It should prove to be yet another meet where we can build on our continued success!
Be sure to check back and see how we did!
Brittany Parker
Good to Great!
