Pioneer Post - February 19, 2007
 Welcome back, Pioneer fans!
We had very productive practices this week, working on the little things and consistency to prepare for conference rivals Illinois State and UIC along with Boise State. On Friday, Coach decided to give us a bit of an incentive to perform at the top of our abilities at the meet. His little plan called for a 60-minute reduction in Sunday’s practice time for every event we hit (and did not count a fall). We ended up hitting two of the four events, so Sunday’s practice was only two hours long!
Although we didn’t accomplish all of our goals this weekend, there were quite a few things to celebrate. We once again scored a season high, this time breaking 192. On vault we had two gymnasts, Nicole Poling and Amy Hulbert, do new 10.0 vaults, with Poling tallying a 9.8 and a share of the title. The beam team also had a stellar night with a 48.7 total. Brittany Parker led the event with a 9.8, and we had three more scores above a 9.7.
We are looking forward to getting back in the gym and really pushing ourselves to practice the way we want to compete as we prepare for our next meet against Southeast Missouri State, which is another conference rival. They are ranked number one in the Midwest Independent Conference at this time.
Don’t forget that our last home meet will be March 10 th at 7:00 p.m. against Kentucky, Southeast Missouri and Bowling Green. It will be senior and parent appreciation night!
