PIONEER POST from Courtney |
Pioneer Post - January 8, 2007
Hello to all of our Pioneer gymnastics fans!
Welcome back and Happy New Year. It’s 2007 and the season is upon us. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a great New Year. We finished up finals before we headed home for break and I’m proud to say our team finished the semester with an amazing GPA of 3.58. We do succeed in the classroom as well as in the gym. I know the whole team enjoyed their time off to spend with family, but we were all anxious to get back in the gym and get ready for our first meet coming up this weekend at BYU.
We came back on Jan 2 nd for our first practice of 2007, and while school is still out until Jan 16 th, we are able to focus solely on gymnastics and not have to worry about schoolwork. We have had a pretty demanding schedule over the past week working out six to eight hours a day. It is pretty tough I might say, but whatever doesn’t kill you, only makes you stronger, RIGHT! We will continue working hard the rest of this week and will leave on Thursday for Utah.
Our first meet of the year is on the road and it is going to be such a great experience for our young freshmen who have yet to know what a college meet feels like. We are so excited that the season has finally arrived, and we are ready for all of our hard work to start paying off.
Our first home meet is January 21 st in Kitty Magee Arena at 2:00 p.m. against Central Michigan and Brown University. Please come out to support our team and watch us do our thing.
Go Pioneers!
