SCHILB EARNS NCAA DIVISION II DEGREE-COMPLETION AWARD
 DENTON, Texas (June 27, 2008) – Jennifer Schilb, a four-year (2004-08) member of the Texas Woman’s University basketball team, has been awarded an NCAA Division II Degree-Completion Award for 2008-09.
The purpose of the Division II Degree-Completion Award program is to provide financial assistance to deserving student-athletes who are working towards the completion of a first baccalaureate degree. Student-athletes who have exhausted their athletics eligibility and have received athletics financial aid are eligible candidates for this award.
The selection process for this national award emphasizes the academic performance of the student-athlete. Other factors considered are financial circumstances, athletic achievement and involvement in campus and community activities.
Schilb (pictured), who will be completing her business finance degree, enjoyed a productive basketball career for the Pioneers. She played in 85 games, scoring 243 points, grabbing 159 rebounds, blocking 20 shots, stealing 20 balls, and handing out 31 assists. Her best single-game performance came on November 23, 2004, when she had 18 points and six rebounds in a 71-63 loss to Tarleton State University.
The Division II Degree-Completion Awards were established in 2001. Schilb joins Jennifer Bolli, Erin MacNabb, Melanie Pabalate, Courtney Colmer, Bethany Rehm, Jill Arnold, Emily Meinen, and Lindsy Russ-Keller on the list of Pioneer student-athletes that have received this prestigious award.
