THREE PIONEERS PICKED FOR LSC SOUTH DIVISION COMMISSIONER’S HONOR ROLL
BARTLESVILLE, Oklahoma (March 4) – Texas Woman’s University basketball players Keshia Bolds, Jessica Durr, and Savannah Thompson earned spots on the 2007-08 Lone Star Conference Women’s Basketball South Division Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
The 2008 LSC women’s basketball academic awards were announced by league officials Tuesday night at the LSC Awards Banquet in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
To be eligible for LSC academic honors, student-athletes must have reached sophomore status and carry at least a 3.20 grade point average.
Bolds (pictured at right), a sophomore kinesiology major from The Colony, Texas, currently has a 3.41 cumulative GPA. She led all Pioneer players this season in assists per game (3.4), three-point field goals made (26), and three-point field goal shooting percentage (.394).
Durr (pictured at left), also a sophomore kinesiology major, hails from Plano, Texas. She is presently maintaining a 3.36 GPA. Durr was the Pioneers’ second leading scorer on the court this season, pouring in 12.4 points per game. She also snared 5.3 rebounds per game and delivered 2.7 assists per game despite averaging more than 35 minutes played.

Thompson (pictured at right) is a senior kinesiology major from Dallas, Texas. Her cumulative GPA is 3.27 in this her second year at TWU after transferring from Kilgore Junior College. She was a versatile contributor for the Pioneers this season, dropping in 10.8 points per game while also collecting 5.1 rebounds per game.
“I’m proud of these three student-athletes,” said TWU head coach Beth Jillson. “To be able to maintain such high standard of academic excellence and play as well as they did on the court is a significant accomplishment.” |
