FREE T-SHIRTS FOR PIONEER BASKETBALL FANS THIS THURSDAY NIGHT
 DENTON , Texas (November 27) - After enjoying an extended break over the Thanksgiving holiday, the Texas Woman’s University basketball team will return to the court this Thursday night, November 29, when they host the Southeastern Oklahoma State University Savage Storm at 7:00 p.m. in Kitty Magee Arena.
Fans will want to come early to Thursday night’s game, as the first 100 spectators through the Magee Arena doors will receive a free TWU Basketball t-shirt.
In addition to the t-shirt giveaway, the TWU student organization Helping Hands will be collecting donations for the United Way of Denton County prior to the start of the game. This event is TWU’s student initiative in the current United Way Campaign.
At halftime, the Jump 2 It basketball exhibition group from Lee Elementary will be performing. Following the game, the entire TWU basketball team will be available to meet fans and sign autographs.
The Pioneers will take the court on Thursday with a 1-2 record on the young 2007-08 season. They picked up their first victory of the year on Tuesday, November 20, with a 75-58 win over Southern Arkansas University. SOSU has won their last three games in a row and will bring a 3-1 record with them to Denton.
TWU head basketball coach Beth Jillson said her team is looking forward to the game against the Savage Storm.
“We should be rested and ready,” said Jillson. “The holiday was good for our team because we were able to regroup after starting the season with three games in five days. We’ve had a good week of practice and I’m looking forward to competing again.”
Single-game tickets for all 2007-08 TWU Basketball home games are $4 for adults (ages 17 and up), and $3 for senior citizens (ages 55 and up), non-TWU students, and children ages 6-16. Children 6 and under, TWU students, faculty, and staff are admitted free to all TWU home athletic events with a valid TWU ID. Additionally, TWU faculty and staff will be granted three free admissions per home event for guests of their choice (excluding students in grades 9-12). Season ticket packages, for both adults and children, are also available for the 2007-08 TWU Basketball season. |
