2005-2006: Started all 27 of the Pioneers 28 games played…led TWU in numerous statistical categories, including total points (494), points per game (18.3), offensive rebounds (60), defensive rebounds (176), rebounds per game (8.7), field goals made (169), free throws made (136), field goal percentage (.512), and blocks (44)…her 811 minutes played were the third most on the TWU roster…was named to the All-LSC South Division first team (becoming the first Pioneers player to earn first team honors since Rhonda Wilson did in 1995-1996)…also named to the 2006 LSC All-Tournament team…on two occasions (Dec. 13, 2005 and January 4, 2006) she was selected as the LSC South Division Player of the Week…recorded ten double-doubles for the season…finished third in the LSC in scoring (17.4 ppg) and blocked shots (22) and fourth in the LSC in rebounds per game (9.0)…posted a season high of 33 points versus Texas A&M-Commerce (1/12/06)…totaled a season best 17 rebounds against St. Mary’s (11/19/05).
PRIOR TO TWU: Wimbish played at McLennan (TX) Community College (2003-05) … averaged 17.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.4 blocks … led her team to a 24-4 overall record with a 12-2 mark in conference play to win the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference (NTJCAC) Championship … named 2004-05 NTJCAC Player of the Year, NJCAA All-American, all-Region and all-Conference.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2003 graduate of Roy Miller High School in Corpus Christi, Texas … lettered in basketball and volleyball … was a four-time all-district, all-metro and all-South Texas recipient … added all-region honors as a junior and senior … named to all-state third team her junior season … was Newcomer of the Year as a freshman.
PERSONAL: Born March 4, 1985 … the daughter of John and Darrlyn Wimbish calls her mother, Darrlyn her role model… a kinesiology major …says her favorite television show is VH1’s “Flava of Love” and her favorite musical group is Danity Kane…enjoys rollerblading, hanging out with my family and shopping in her spare time.
