NEWTON RESIGNS AS PIONEERS ASSISTANT BASKETBALL COACH
 DENTON, Texas (August 5) – Texas Woman’s University assistant basketball coach Callie Newton has resigned to pursue other career opportunities.
Newton (pictured) originally came to TWU in June 2006 after serving as a graduate assistant coach for two years (2004-06) at Drury University in Springfield, Missouri. Newton played basketball at Drury for three seasons (2000-2003) before joining the Panthers coaching staff in August 2003 as a student assistant coach.
Newton ’s resignation is effective immediately. A search for her replacement will begin right away.
