PIONEER POST from Brittany |
Pioneer Post - April 18, 2007
(Editor's Note: This is the second in a series of "Pioneer Posts" from Seattle, Washington detailing the TWU Pioneers experiences at the 2007 USAG National Championships)
Hello Pioneer Fans,
Today was yet another exciting day for us here in Seattle! We started off the day by getting to sleep in a little bit, which was very nice. We woke up with the anticipation of knowing we only had one more day until the first night of our national championships!
We always enjoy this day of our trip because of the annual banquet. The teams get dressed up in their team colors and represent each school proudly. We ate some good food, mingled with the other girls, and watched a slide show from the meet last year. We were allowed to reminisce about those fond memories! Something that was very cool that happened was the emcee of the banquet, in his closing remarks, mentioned our team motto this year: 2-1-2… The Extra Degree! It made an incredible statement to all of us as we began to feel goose bumps appear while listening to the emcee, realizing that it IS going to take that “extra degree” that has been ever present to all of us throughout the year.
Later in the afternoon we made our way onto the beautiful Seattle Pacific University campus and headed to practice in the meet facility. We all were thankful to be able to familiarize ourselves with our surroundings and the equipment. We then went to Buca di Beppos, a great Italian restaurant, and had dinner! I think the phrase of the day would be “goose bumps” because we were all feeling them the whole day! We’re SO excited to finally be here and do our jobs! Thank you so much to all our fans who support us through thick and thin!
CHOJ 2-1-2!!!!
