GWYN JOINS PIONEER SOFTBALL STAFF
 DENTON , Texas – Jason Gwyn has been named the assistant softball coach at Texas Woman’s University, announced Director of Athletics Chalese Connors.
Gwyn is a native Texan and will handle hitting, infield, recruiting and camp duties with the Pioneers. Gwyn has worked with both the Texas Tech University and University of Texas softball teams. At Tech, he was a student assistant from 2000-02. He helped with on-field aspects and kept the hitting and pitching charts during the games. Gwyn was a graduate assistant with the Longhorns from 2003-04. He was involved with daily office operations in addition to coaching duties.
Currently, Gwyn is the head coach of the Austin Storm 18-under Gold team. He has coached several other ASA teams and worked at numerous summer camps. Gwyn is an active member of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).
Born in Big Spring, Texas, he attended Coahoma High School. Gwyn earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise and sport science with a minor in psychology in May of 2003. He is working on his master’s degree in sports psychology at UT.
