MEET THE PIONEERS ON FRIDAY NIGHT
DENTON , Texas – The Texas Woman’s University gymnastics team will hold its annual Intrasquad Meet on Friday, Dec. 2 at 7:00 p.m. in Magee Arena. The squad will be divided up into Maroon, Silver and White teams for the competition.
Admission is free and the first 200 fans will receive a TWU Gymnastics “Pioneer Proud” t-shirt. Spectators will enjoy exhibition performances and skills demonstrations from the seven-time USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Champions. In addition, head coach Frank Kudlac will speak throughout the night explaining each event including the skills, rules and scoring.
TWU competes as an independent in the Midwest Independent Conference and the NCAA South Central Region. The Pioneers return eight athletes and have seven new additions to the 2006 squad. TWU is led by a trio of captains, seniors Bethany Rehm and Nakia Westbrook and junior Courtney Arno.
The Pioneers begin the regular season on Jan. 15 hosting a quadrangular meet with Utah Stat, LSU and Centenary. The meet features a special performance by Brave Combo, including a pre-meet show at 1:00 p.m.
