MICHAEL SIGNS WITH PIONEERS
DENTON,
Texas – Brista Michael signed a National Letter
of Intent to join Texas Woman’s University gymnastics
team for the 2005-06 season announced head coach Frank Kudlac.
“We are very excited to have Brista in our program. She really fits the
profile of a TWU gymnast,” Kudlac said. “She is a great student and
graduated third in her class. She also received an honors and new student scholarship
from TWU in addition to an athletics award. Her strengths are the uneven bars
and floor. We are looking forward to her contributing immediately when she gets
here.”
A Caldwell, Idaho, native Michael graduated from Vallivue High School. In 2004,
she was an alternate to the Junior Olympic Nationals. Michael won the Idaho
level nine state championship in 2003. She competed for the Bronco Elite Arts
and Athletics Club team. Michael enjoys barrel racing and qualified for the
National Barrel Horse Association World Championships in 2003. Her academic
honors include: excellence in biology award (2003); University of Idaho top
scholar award, highest honors in chemistry and Spanish III award (2004); top
ten member, excellence in AP biology and AP English IV award and highest honors
in math and science awards (2005).
