SIX PIONEERS SELECTED FOR MIC ALL-CONFERENCE TEAMS
DENTON , Texas – In addition to winning the 2006 Midwest Independent Conference title, Texas Woman’s University had six gymnasts selected for the MIC All-Conference teams.
Freshman Brittany Parker, junior Courtney Arno and sophomore Brisa Fuentes earned first team recognition by placing in the top three. Parker won the vault. Arno took both the uneven bars and balance beam titles. Fuentes captured the floor and finished third on the bars.
Seniors Bethany Rehm and Nakia Westbrook along with sophomore Nicole Poling were named to the second team. Rehm and Poling tied for fourth place on the bars and floor, respectively. Westbrook also tied for fifth place on the vault.
Moreover, all 14 TWU gymnasts that competed at the meet received All-Conference scholastic recognition. The Pioneers were the only team to earn that distinction.
