PIONEERS START POSTSEASON JOURNEY AT MIC CHAMPIONSHIPS
DENTON , Texas – Texas Woman’s University gymnastics begins the postseason with the Midwest Independent Conference Championships at Southeast Missouri State on March 25 at 1:00 p.m.
TWU is in its fourth season as a member of the MIC. The conference includes the University of Illinois at Chicago; Illinois State University; Centenary College; Southeast Missouri State and TWU. The five programs c ompete in an independent regular-season schedule with no formal conference schedule.
The Pioneers have battled with four league rivals this season. TWU is 1-1 against Centenary, 0-2 versus Southeast and 0-1 in opposition to UIC.
TWU enters the postseason ranked third in the MIC standings behind UIC and Southeast. Last year the Pioneers hosted the meet and finished second behind the Flames. UIC has captured the last four MIC titles.
