Post 5 -- Week of Nov. 8, 2004
Hello
from Pioneer gymnastics! I'm Addi Hundley, a senior on this
amazing TWU team. Wow! It's hard to believe that we're more
than halfway through the semester, coming up on Thanksgiving
and working really hard to get our skills and routines ready
for our Intrasquad Meet on December 3rd. It's important for
us to have everything cemented over the next couple of weeks
so we can practice, practice, practice!
The team is really working well together by cheering one
another on, encouraging each other when they're trying a
new or difficult skill, and just really getting into the
team spirit. I know all of you will be excited to see how
we're complementing each other on the various events. We
have a lot of depth this year and each of the girls has specific
events that they're really good on. As a result, we're making
sure the coaches will have a difficult time trying to determine
who goes into the lineup at each meet. We know that whoever
competes will present a big challenge to the opponent and
the rest of our team will be cheering them on loud and clear!
We've been involved in a lot of fun and neat activities so
far this fall as you've read in other posts, but now is the
time to really pour it on and work toward a successful competitive
season. The coaches have been doing their best to encourage
us as well. On Thursday night we had one of our awesome freshman
get up on the high beam and conquer one of her biggest fears.
As a result, Coach Kudlac gave the entire team Friday off!
Talk about being surprised; we were ecstatic and knew that
we should use our free day wisely!
We look forward to seeing you cheering on this great team
starting at our first meet on December 3rd.
We are all working really well together on our way to bringing
the USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championship back to
Denton.
Check back next week for more!
Addi
