Post 22 -- Week of April 4, 2005
Hello to our fans!! We had this past weekend
off from competition, which gave us the opportunity to spend
the week training for the USA Gymnastics National Meet April
14-16. Coach also gave us last Sunday and Monday off for Easter
and to rest our bodies before our preparation for nationals.
We have been training very hard in the gym and focusing on
the little mistakes that are holding us back. We have some
relaxed days where we just work parts on the events and then
some intense days where we train our competition sets. Coach
has also made cardio fun by letting us swim laps and use the
kick boards for conditioning. This also helps us take the pounding
off our bodies. We are looking great in the gym and our team
unity has continued to build like it has all year. Our consistency
is growing on each event and as always we are trusting in the
system coach has prepared for us! We also started our traditional
saying in our team huddle that we repeat as a group which is
memorized by every gymnast. It is a motivation speech that
gets our mind set on our goal.
Coach Kudlac gave each gymnast and coach a key at the beginning
of the week without any notches. He told us that we had a door
to open and what we put into our practices before nationals
are the notches we are putting into the key. Those notches
are going to be the door we open at nationals. It was a little
motivation that got our team psyched!
We are very excited about nationals and are preparing for
our psych gifts that each class makes for everyone on the team.
We will start our class psych days this week. This is a fun
tradition that we do every year and are great keep sakes to
remember nationals by.
Thanks for keeping up with us! TWU Gymnastics Rocks!
Go Pioneers!
