Pioneer Post 17 -- Week of Feb. 28,
2005
This week has been very busy. We started the
week training very hard for our upcoming quad meet which was
very big for us. We were so ready and pumped going into this
meet because we had yet to show everyone how good we really
are.
Going into
Saturday’s quad meet against Air Force, Centenary,
and Illinois, the team was prepared to rock. We train so hard
and we just wanted to be able to put it all together in a meet.
Unfortunately, the meet did not go as well as we would have
liked. Although we did not put up a horrible score, it was
not at all what we are capable of doing. With a very short
training period we began to prepare for our next meet against
Utah State, which was coming up on Tuesday.
Right before the meet, Coach Kudlac asked to speak to us as
a team to give us a motivational speech, telling us it was
time - time for us to get it together and do our job. We all
walked into that gym with our heads up knowing we were going
to hit. With all of the other excitement going on at the meet
(a choir singing the national anthem, a cheerleadering exhibition
and the UNT drum line playing during the touch warm-ups), our
gymnastics just added to the atmosphere of the night!
Not
only were we having fun, everyone in the crowd was enjoying
it as well. TWU hit routine after routine and it was great!!!
We were hoping to have beaten our team record of a 196.000,
but we were very happy with the 195.950, just enough for a
win (by .050) over a very good Utah State team.
All together, this was an exciting meet and we are all ready
to get back in the gym and push harder. We have to get ready
for our next meet in Oklahoma on Saturday, March 5th. We need
to back up our last effort and show everyone that we are a
great team!
Thanks for your support!
