FALLS IMPAIR PIONEERS
COLORADO SPRINGS , Colo. – The Texas Woman’s University gymnastics team had a night of falls against the Air Force Academy , dropping the dual meet, 186.150-188.925.
The Pioneers started the night on bars with three falls. They hit all of their routines on vault but fell again on the bars and floor.
Courtney Arno started her collegiate career with a 9.300 on the bars. Nicole Poling was solid with a 9.45 on vault, 9.65 on beam and 9.55 on floor.”
“Courtney fell on her dismount. She would have had a 9.800 but with the fall scored a 9.300,” said Kudlac. “Nicole was outstanding with an excellent vault, beam and floor routine.”
TWU had three more falls on the floor which was frustrating. On the beam the Pioneers fell on five of six routines to put them in the hole against the Falcons. Throughout the meet they lost 4.5 points with falls.
“The pace of the meet was slow. It was the judges and everything,” said Kudlac. “Now we have had our first home and away meet and have two weeks to train.”
TWU hosts Southeast Missouri State and BYU on Feb. 5 beginning at 7:00 p.m. in Magee Arena.
