MacNABB HONORED BY CoSIDA ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT

gymnast Erin MacNabb was named to the 2005 ESPN The Magazine
CoSIDA Academic All-District VI College Division Women’s
At-Large Team which honors success on the field of play and
in the classroom.
The kinesiology major has a 3.80 grade point average and is a two-time Academic
All-district first team selection for the Pioneers. MacNabb received first
team honors in 2004 as well.
The Academic All-District Women’s At-Large Team is open to student-athletes
participating in a variety of sports ranging from bowling to water polo. To
be eligible, the nominee must be a starter or key reserve with legitimate athletic
credentials and at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).
The nominee also must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing
and must have completed one full academic year at the nominating institution.
CoSIDA members in District VI, which consists of schools with CoSIDA members
in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas, then vote
based on a combination of academic and athletic achievement. College Division
includes NCAA Division II, Division III and NAIA.
Each student-athlete named to the All-District team will advance for consideration
for the 2005 CoSIDA Academic All-America College Division Women’s At-Large
team, which is scheduled for release on June 16.
MacNabb, a Glenwood, Md., native had a season-high bars score of 9.875 against
Auburn which was part of team record in the event. In 2005, she received USA
Gymnastics Scholar-Athlete, USAG All-American and Midwest Independent Conference
All-Academic accolades. In 2004, she broke the school record on the bars with
a 9.925 which was tied this year by Courtney Arno.
