PARKER INKS WITH TWU GYMNASTICS
DENTON,
Texas – Texas Woman’s University head
gymnastics coach Frank Kudlac announced that Brittany Parker
of Aurora, Colo., has signed a National Letter of Intent to
join squad for the 2005-06 season.
 “We
are very excited about Brittany joining the Pioneers. Signing
her keeps our Colorado connection going. We have had several
Colorado athletes experience
success here,” Kudlac said. “She excels on the vault and floor events.
Just recently, Brittany won the USAG Region III Level 10 vaulting title. She
is
a welcome addition
and we expect big things from her.”
Parker hails from Grandview High School. Since seventh
grade, she has competed with the Colorado Gymnastics Institute
in Aurora. Parker has qualified for
the Region three regional meet for seven years in a row. In 2003, she earned
second place in the all-around at state. As a junior, she placed fourth on
the beam and fifth in the all-around with a score of 36.875 to qualify for
the level 10 Junior Olympic Nationals. At the national meet, she finished
15th on the beam. The daughter of Joel and Jill Parker,
she enjoys Ancient Egypt,
music and England in her spare time.
