ARNO EARNS MIDWEST INDEPENDENT CONFERENCE GYMNAST
OF THE WEEK HONORS
DENTON,
Texas – Courtney Arno turned in two excellent
performances on the uneven bars and balance beam for Texas
Woman’s University last week to earn Midwest Independent
Conference Gymnast of the Week accolades for March 15-21.
“Courtney is most deserving of this award,” head coach Frank Kudlac
said. “Her courage to battle back from a potentially career ending knee
injury is inspiring to everyone. She not only came back to compete, but is competing
at a very high and successful level.”
Arno tied for first place with a score of 9.875 as the team posted a school
record 49.300 on the bars. On the beam, the sophomore tied for second place
honors with a career-high mark of 9.875. In the MIC, Arno is ranked second
on the bars (9.820) and fourth on the beam (9.725) using the regional qualifying
scores (RQS).
