MARCH 1ST GYMNASTICS MEET TO FEATURE LOTS OF
EXTRAS
DENTON, Texas – The Texas Woman’s University
gymnastics team hosts the Utah State Aggies for a dual
meet on March 1
in Magee Arena beginning at 7:00 p.m. and will feature several
promotions including a performance by the University of North
Texas Drum Line.
The UNT Drum Line will play throughout the meet and have a seven-minute set after
the meet as well. The UNT Drum Line has won the PASIC College Marching Drum Line
Competition 13 times and is recognized as a leader in indoor performances. This
unique ensemble combines the diverse styles of world percussion music with the
traditions of the marching ensemble. From steel pan to Latin hand drums, this
energetic ensemble offers a wide variety of sounds, and visual effects. The director
of the drum line is Paul Rennick and the coordinator of the UNT Percussion area
is Mark Ford.
Fans will not only enjoy the drum line but also free pizza as part of Pioneer
Pride and Pizza Night. All fans wearing Pioneer colors of maroon and white
will receive free pizza from Cici’s Pizza while supplies last.
Tuesday is also TWU Student Organization Night featuring a banner and spirit
contest among on-campus student organizations.
The meet will include special performances by the Liberty Christian School choir
and cheerleaders as well as an exhibition performance from members of the Achievers
Gymnastics Center.
