BEREND NAMED DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
 DENTON , Texas – Texas Woman’s University senior Trina Berend was named Lone Star Conference North Division Defensive Player of the Week after leading the Pioneers to a 2-1 record including victories over Southeastern Oklahoma State University and Texas A&M-Commerce last week.
Berend tallied 16 total blocks for an average of 1.45 per game. She had six blocks in a four-game loss to Dallas Baptist before recording a season-high eight blocks against SOSU and two more versus Commerce. Berend added 28 kills and five digs.
