PIONEERS FACE TEXAS A&M-COMMERCE IN CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT

DENTON , Texas – The Texas Woman’s University Pioneers begin postseason play Thursday in the 2005 Lone Star Conference Tournament hosted by Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Okla.

The Pioneers (9-8-1, 4-5) are making their first appearance in the postseason in the program’s four-year history under head coach Fleur Benatar. TWU faces Texas A&M-Commerce in the semifinals on Nov. 3 at 2:30 p.m. The Lions defeated the Pioneers, 3-0, earlier this season. Commerce will be without their senior captain Erin de Wolfe who was issued a red card in their last game against West Texas A&M for her part in an on-field scuffle.

Midwestern State and Angelo State start the tournament Thursday with a 12:00 p.m. game at Tom Thompson Field. West Texas A&M plays the winner of the first game at 12:00 p.m., while UCO plays the winner of the Commerce-TWU game at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Friday's winners will play for the LSC championship Sunday at 1 p.m.
