In October 2006, 75 football standouts were honored, and, in January 2007, 75 basketball stars were recognized.
The LSC 75 th Anniversary All-Sports Team recognizes excellence in the sports of baseball, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, track and field, and volleyball. Thirty-two male student-athletes, 23 female student-athletes, and 20 coaches were chosen for this team.
TWU Director of Athletics Chalese Connors said Baker is very deserving of the LSC recognition.
“Being honored by the Lone Star Conference on its 75 th anniversary team is a fitting tribute,” Connors stated. “Dianne’s coaching tenure in the Lone Star was outstanding and I’m very happy that she is being recognized for her accomplishments. She continues to be a wonderful ambassador for softball and for TWU.”
Baker said she is flattered to be a member of the LSC All-Sports Team.
“The Lone Star Conference is an extremely distinguished and well respected conference in college athletics and, because of that, I greatly appreciate this honor. I’ve come full circle with the LSC, from my stint at Stephen F. Austin to my time at TWU. It makes me very proud to be so closely associated with the growth and success of this conference,” she explained.
