PIONEERS MARK 47TH STRAIGHT SEMESTER OF ACADEMIC STREAK

DENTON, Texas – Texas Woman’s University student-athletes recorded a 3.24 grade point average in the 2005 fall semester for the 47th straight semester of a cumulative 3.0 GPA or better.

The Pioneer gymnasts have had the highest team GPA for the last two consecutive semesters and led the way again with a 3.61. This is just shy of their highest-ever GPA of 3.64 registered in fall 2004.

Overall, nine student-athletes earned a perfect 4.0: Brittany Parker, Nicole Poling, Bethany Rehm and Emily Seidelman from gymnastics, Britney Cochrum and Aly Vincent from soccer, Amanda Arnold from softball, Kelley Humphries from basketball, and Kandis Schroeder from volleyball.

The Pioneers have 78 student-athletes who compete in five NCAA Division II sports: basketball, soccer, softball and volleyball in the Lone Star Conference and as an independent in gymnastics.
