GOOD EATS TO HOST SCHOLARSHIP FUNDRAISER ON FEBRUARY 20

DENTON , Texas – The Texas Woman’s University athletic department welcomes all Pioneer fans to a special fundraiser on Monday, February 20, at Good Eats Grill from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m.

TWU needs 100 or more fans to participate in this fundraiser by identifying themselves as Pioneer supporters to the restaurant hostess and wait staff. Good Eats will then donate 10 percent of the net sales from those meals to the Pioneer Athletics Fund Drive.

The Pioneer Athletics Fund Drive is the University’s annual fundraising event for athletics scholarships. This fund drive, along with other Athletics projects, is the only source of scholarship money for Pioneer student-athletes. The State of Texas does not allow any state-appropriated funds to be spent on athletics scholarships, so the Pioneers must raise their own money each year.

TWU supports five intercollegiate sports - basketball, gymnastics, soccer, softball and volleyball – which translate to approximately 80 student-athletes. Currently, TWU Athletics allocates $385,000 in scholarships annually. By dining at Good Eats on February 20, fans can help the Pioneers reach this goal.

Good Eats, located in north Denton at 5812 I-35 North, is a casual Texas chain restaurant renowned for grilled steak, fish, chicken and award-winning chicken-fried steak.
