DENTON , Texas – Texas Woman’s University head basketball coach Rene Hanebutt announced that four student-athletes have signed to play for the Pioneers.
Courtney Colmer, Maggy Deweber, Whitney Moore and Kristal Robeson compose the inaugural recruiting class for Hanebutt who joined TWU in April.
“I’m really excited about this year’s recruiting class,” Hanebutt stated. “I’ve got a good mix of guards who have quickness and great shooting ability. Overall I’m very pleased with how recruiting has turned out.”
Colmer joins TWU with one season of eligibility remaining. The Bedford, Texas, native played at Hill College (2002-04) and McNeese State (2004-05). Last season, Colmer played in 26 games as the third-leading scorer with 8.1 points per game for the Cowgirls. At Hill, she averaged 22 points, five rebounds and three assists a game. She graduated from Euless Trinity High School in 2002. Colmer earned letters in basketball, volleyball and softball as a Trojan.
“Courtney is an unbelievable shooter. She is very fluid and smooth,” Hanebutt said. “She will add another dimension to the team and make an immediate impact.”

She was a four-time all-district and two-time regional qualifier in golf as well. Deweber was also a four-time academic all-district selection.
“Maggy is an excellent shooter. She will play one of the guard positions,” Hanebutt said. “As a true freshman, she will have a big adjustment period but I am excited about her future.”
Moore is a transfer from Oklahoma State University where she played in two games for the Cowgirls as a freshman. Moore had a stellar career at All Saints Episcopal School in Fort Worth, Texas, earning letters in basketball, volleyball and softball. She scored 1,744 points in her career averaging 17 points, over five assists and eight caroms a game. As a senior, she led the Lady Saints to a 19-10 record on her way to earning All-Southwest Preparatory Conference honors for the fourth consecutive year. Moore was named to the Principal’s List at All Saints. She also earned academic accolades at OSU including being named to President’s Honor Roll and Dean’s Honor Roll recognition. Her hobbies include sho pping and reading.
“Whitney is a big guard who will score a lot of points and also help the team score,” Hanebutt said. “She can break down defenses with her slashing ability and is a formidable passer. She will make an immediate impact.”
Robeson comes to TWU from Abilene Christian University. As a freshman, she saw action in 28 games with 11 starts. The Hurst, Texas, native averaged better than 15 points and three assists per game at L.D. Bell High School.
