PIONEERS FALL TO EAST CENTRAL
ADA , Okla. – The Texas Woman’s University soccer team lost to East Central, 3-0, in Lone Star Conference action.
On a cloudy and windy afternoon, the Pioneers ( 4-10-1 , 1-4-1 ) could not score while taking 11 shots including four on goal. Melissa Scott took three of the team’s shots.
East Central took 22 shots including 16 on goal and converted on three of those. The Tigers struck first at the 24:15 mark with a goal on a through ball. Right before halftime they added another with an own goal off a corner kick.
In the 76 th minute, ECU scored again to lead, 3-0.
The Tigers kept Krista Elbert busy as she recorded 11 saves in the contest.
TWU had 10 fouls compared to five for ECU. The Pioneers remain winless against the Tigers all-time in three meetings.
Next, TWU returns to Denton for a three-game home stand beginning Oct. 22 against Southwestern Oklahoma at 6:00 p.m.
