DROP GAME TO RATTLERS
SAN
ANTONIO, Texas – The Texas Woman’s University
soccer team fell to St. Mary’s, 3-0, in non-conference
play.
The
Pioneers (3-8, 0-2) offense took eight shots in the game
but could not find the back of the net.
“ It’s
just upsetting knowing that your team is playing hard and
doing the right things but can’t score,” stated
head coach Fleur Benatar.
The
field conditions were not good throughout the game as the
rain fell before the game started
creating numerous puddles on the field.
St.
Mary’s
scored first 18 minutes into the game to lead 1-0 at
halftime. The Rattlers added another goal three minutes into
the second half
before scoring on a free kick in the 52 minute.
Krista
Elbert had five saves as the Rattlers took eleven shots
in the game.
“Breann
(Morris) played outstanding again today,” added Benatar.
Next,
TWU plays Lone Star Conference foe Midwestern State, Oct.
6, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Mean Green Soccer
Complex in Denton.
