SOCCER FALLS TO HARDING
DENTON , Texas – The Texas Woman’s University soccer team fell to Harding, 4-1, in non-conference action.
“Today my team did not show up,” said head coach Fleur Benatar, “We made a very average team look good.”
Harding (5-1) scored first at the 17:32 mark in the first half before adding another goal to beat TWU (2-4). Harding took seven shots and had four corner kicks as well in the first half.
The Pioneers couldn’t get the offense going until the second half when sophomore Britany Cochrum scored on a header off a free kick, by Natalie Grant, to put TWU on the board.
“Britany had a nice goal but it wasn’t enough,” added Benatar.
Freshman Krista Elbert allowed four goals and had three saves in goal for TWU.
TWU managed eight shots in the game led by Sue Cribbes with three of those.
The Pioneers have a week off from game action before facing Northwest Oklahoma State , Sept. 19.
