MAROON AND WHITE LUNCHEONS SET FOR 2005-06

DENTON , Texas – Dates for the Maroon and White Luncheons for the 2005-06 year have been announced and TWU Athletics will return to Outback Steakhouse for the third consecutive year.

The Pioneers have scheduled a luncheon for each sport beginning with Volleyball on Sept. 21 st. Soccer will be featured at the Oct. 5 th luncheon followed by Basketball on Nov. 9 th. In 2006, the Gymnastics luncheon is slated for Jan. 18 th. Softball wraps up the Wednesday events on March 8 th. The luncheons are from 11:45 a.m.-1:00 p.m. and are a great opportunity for fans to meet the coaches and student-athletes. In addition, the head coaches will talk about their respective teams. The cost is only $5.00.

“The Maroon and White luncheons have grown in popularity since we started them in 2003,” Director of Athletics Chalese Connors said. “We enjoy seeing our fans and interacting with them outside of campus. The luncheons give them an opportunity to meet our teams, especially our new student-athletes. I hope more people to take advantage of this fan-friendly setting. Everyone is invited!”
