Meetings

Our ASSET meetings are held on the third Tuesday of every month.  We have a general open meeting in October with a membership drive around the same time.  The rest of the meetings are usually closed to members.  Members sign up to hostess a meeting and will bring a wide variety of presentations such as:  The new voice mail system, travel, ergonomics, nutrition and health.  The following are topics for our future monthly meetings:

January 19, 2010 - Program TBA; hosted by Pam Ratliff
February 16, 2010 - Program TBA; hosted by  Shirley Saunders and Michele Kyle
March 9, 2010 - Program TBA; hosted by Teresa Pierce
April 20, 2010 - Stress Management with guest speaker, Denise Lucero Miller; hosted by Tesse Scott and Gail Orlando
May 18, 2010 - Texas Collegiate League (summer college baseball); hosted by Bo Carter
June 15, 2010 - TBA
July 20, 2010 - Installation of Officers and Scholarship Presentation; hosted by ASSET Board

The ASSET board meets the Friday before the monthly meeting at 3:00 p.m. in SH 202G.

Events and Fundraisers

ASSET Bake Sale and Garden Stand

October 27, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
2nd Floor of the Student Union

We participate in the following events and fundraisers:

Adopt-A-Spot - six times a year.  ASSET is responsible for the upkeep of Oakland Street between Texas and Locust. 
Craft Fair - Winter Wonderland in December
Bake Sales
Thanksgiving Potluck
Secret Pal Drawing
Christmas meeting where we bring our secret pal a "secret" gift
Holiday adopt a child

Sometimes we have ASSET family nights or get together to see musicals, etc.

ASSET & Adopt-a-Spot: Our Service to Our Community

ASSET's contract with Keep Denton Beautiful states that ASSET is responsible for the upkeep of Oakland Street between Texas and Locust. Our contract stipulates that we clean up our area at least six times during the year.

We would like to see each member commit to walk either once or twice during the year. If you can comply, that’s all any of us would have to do. The project requires the participation of everyone and the Keep Denton Beautiful office appreciates your help!

ASSET Cookbooks

We are currently updating our ASSET cookbook, TWU Cooks, which has a variety of wonderful recipes from all of our ASSET members.  The proceeds go to our J. Wilkes Berry, Ph.D. Memorial Endowment Fund and the ASSET Scholarship.  Order one today!!
