Pride
is the student organization at Texas Woman's University for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered students and straignt allies. Founded in 2000 by Dr. Carmen Cruz (Advisor) and Amber Deane (undergraduate student at the time), it has been an important presence on campus throughout the years. In 2006 PRIDE received the TWU Outstanding Student Organization Award.
Mission Statement:
PRIDE is dedicated to promoting affirmation, providing social support and a sense of community for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered students, and enhancing awareness about sexual minorities. By joining PRIDE and actively engaging in group activities, LGBT students and allies will find a supportive network to enhance the college experience at TWU.
