Employment Updates
Here is a sampling of how some graduates of our M.A. and Graduate Certificate programs are employed:
Meena Anbunathan completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2005. Meena then returned to India to pursue work in the field of HIV/AIDS activism.
Nadine Barrett completed her Graduate Certificate in Women's Studies in 2004. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Sociology at the University of Central Florida.
Krista Benson completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2007. Krista works for a local school district in the field of special education.
Jennifer Brockman completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2003. Jennifer is currently a Writing Instructor and Lecturer at Lamar University in the Department of English and Modern Languages.
Sharon Butler, a graduate of the M.A. program in 2006, works in the field of social work.
Angela Johnson-Fisher completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2007. Angela is the Executive Director of the Deaf Action Center in Dallas, Texas.
Kami Fletcher completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2006. Kami is an Adjunct Instructor in the Women's Studies Program at Texas Woman's University - Denton campus, where she teaches WS 2013 Women: Images and Perspectives.
Jane Grassley completed the Graduate Certificate in Women's Studies in 2005. She is currently an Assistant Professor in the College of Nursing at Texas Woman's University - Denton campus.
Lea Ivy completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2005. She is currently working as a Registered Nurse in the field of women's health.
Kimberly Johnson completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2007. Kimberly works as a Library Assistant in the Woman's Collection at TWU's Blagg-Huey Library.
Kari Kesler completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2001. Kari is currently employed as a Sexuality Health Educator for Public Health -- Seattle & King County.
Laura Knudson completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2007. Laura is an Adjunct Instructor in the Women's Studies Program at Texas Woman's University - Denton campus, where she teaches WS 2013 Women: Images and Perspectives. She is also an Adjunct Instructor for the Women's Studies Program at the University of North Texas.
Amanda Lemon, who completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2007, is employed as a middle school teacher in a local school district.
Susan Lynch completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2004. Susan is a Childbirth Educator in Longmont, Colorado.
Carrie McMaster completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2004. Carrie is a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Women's Studies Program at Texas Woman's University - Denton campus, where she teaches WS 2013 Women: Images and Perspectives.
Harry McMaster completed his M.A. in Women's Studies in 2007. Harry is a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Women's Studies Program at Texas Woman's University - Denton campus, where he teaches WS 2013 Women: Images and Perspectives.
Janice Moran completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2006. Janice is a Vocational Rehabilitation teacher with the Texas
Division for Blind Services.
Mary Jane Philpy completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2007. Mary Jane is currently the Education Programs Manager for Planned Parenthood of North Texas.
Stephanie Rodriguez completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2000. After directing the McNair Program at Texas Woman's University, Stephanie accepted a position as a supervisor at insurance company in Dallas, Texas.
Jo-Ann Stankus, who completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2006, teaches courses in Women's Studies at Texas Woman's University and is also employed by the Women's Museum: An Institute for the Future in Dallas.
Patricia Stukes completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2002. Patricia is a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Women's Studies Program at Texas Woman's University - Denton campus, where she teaches WS 2013 Women: Images and Perspectives.
Doreen Watson completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2005. She is currently teaching at Regis University in Colorado.
